The Probation Employment Pathway (PEP) is a recruitment scheme aimed at supporting individuals with a history of criminal convictions who face barriers to employment. PEP is open to anyone who within the last 10 years has received: A custodial conviction and has been released from prison A conviction resulting in a community sentence A conditional discharge An out of court disposal This role is based in Brighton full time, with a fixed base location and an expectation of travel as operational delivery requires. A flexible approach is required with start times from 7.00 AM and finish times of 16.45 PM, including weekend shifts. A typical full-time 37-hour week will consist of 4 days at 9.25 hours per day, including one weekend day. Mandatory Requirement:
Candidates must hold a full UK Manual Driving Licence. Automatic Driving Licences are not accepted. This is an operational role directly supervising work groups of offenders serving a community sentence. Responsibilities include driving service vehicles, supervising work site tasks, and ensuring health and safety procedures are followed. Responsibilities, Activities & Duties
Conduct Pre-Placement Unpaid Work Induction sessions. Conduct a start of the day ‘tool box’ talk. Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed. Ensure tools and supplies are available. Conduct dynamic risk assessments. Use motivational techniques to ensure service users complete assigned work. Maintain service user records accurately. Work towards accreditation as a workplace assessor. Post holders must demonstrate a commitment to equality and inclusion in all aspects of their work. Minimum Requirements
Required behaviours include managing a quality service, working together, and effective communication. Experience in practical skills and a full UK Manual Driving Licence are essential. Additional Information
