GSL Education are excited to offer an opportunity for a caring and dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join schools in Christchurch. This role is perfect for someone who has a genuine desire to improve the well-being of students with mental health challenges.

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will: Offer one-to-one or small group support to students with mental health needs. Assist in developing coping strategies and promoting resilience among students. Foster a safe and supportive learning environment for all pupils. Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to support individual needs. Monitor and track students' progress, reporting to appropriate staff members. Promote positive mental health and well-being throughout the school. Help students develop social and communication skills while building their confidence.

Mental Health Support Worker Requirements: Experience working with children or young people with mental health needs is essential. A qualification in mental health, counselling, or a related field is desirable but not mandatory. Any degree in Psychology, Education or in a similar field. A compassionate and empathetic approach to working with students. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to manage challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner.
