Description

As a Senior Business Analyst at Davies Technology Solutions (DTS), your role will be to take the lead and engage with stakeholders, both internal and external to elicit, document and prioritise requirements, processes, risks, and objectives that allow for the delivery of large software projects.

You will report to the Principal Business Analyst and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our technology solutions align with business objectives and deliver maximum value.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit and prioritise business requirements. Translate these requirements into clear and actionable specifications for the development team. Analyse complex business processes, systems, and data to identify opportunities for improvement and optimisation. Create detailed documentation, including business process diagrams (BMPN), use cases, and user stories. Provide estimates for effort and timescale for each Product Backlog Items (PBIs) as well as dependencies. Assist in prioritising PBIs for each sprint. Articulate and communicate how user experience needs affect the design of a system in a project or program of work. Function as a key liaison between stakeholders and the development team. Ensure clear and effective communication, manage expectations, and facilitate collaboration. Lead the analysis, identification, design, prioritisation and implementation of process and business changes to improve the Client's business operations and services. Advise on business scenarios and develop acceptance criteria to ensure requirements can be traced to developed functionality. Assist in change management efforts by providing training and support to clients and end-users where appropriate. Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiencies, and innovation within the organisation. Collaborate closely with the Principal Business Analyst to mentor and coach Junior Business Analysts, providing guidance and expertise in business analysis methodologies and best practices. Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies that may impact project requirements.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst or similar role, with a proven history of defining and delivering complex projects. Experience working as a Senior Analyst in the Government sector and technology sector. Excellent understanding of modern software development and associated processes. Experience working within Agile and Waterfall frameworks and the ability to adapt your work style to match the approach of a project. Experience with PBI ticketing/management software, such as DevOps. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders of all levels internally and externally and present information in a way that promotes full comprehension. Excellent time management skills with the ability to work on and complete multiple projects at a time. Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills. Proficiency in documenting business requirements and processes. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams. In-depth knowledge of business data analysis tools and techniques. Experience with Figma or similar design tools. Certification in Business Analysis is a plus.
