Grade 3 - £24,027 pro rata 1:1 One Teaching Assistant (Level One) - Primary Learning Resource Centre
Permanent (subject to pupil remaining on roll) - Full Time post (32 hours term time)
From Monday 5 th May 2025
Grade 3 - £24,027 for 32 hours per week term time only for 45.8 weeks per annum equating to £18,253.34 pro rata rising to 46.8 weeks, £18,651.88 pro rata per annum after 5 years' service.
The Governors of Neyland Community School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work in a 1 to 1 position with a pupil with complex learning and medical needs within our new primary school Learning Resource Centre (LRC).
The successful candidate would be expected to work solely with a pupil with complex learning and medical needs. This would involve ensuring the pupil is safe, well cared for and their medical needs are being met.
As a caregiver you will be responsible for:
Monitoring and managing blood glucose levels, including administering insulin as required. Managing meals and snacks in accordance with dietary needs. Providing consistent, nurturing care and support tailored to the child's specific developmental needs. Communicating effectively using alternative methods, such as visual aids or sign along, to engage and support the child. Following a structured routine and collaborating with parents to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
Requirements for the post:
Experience or willingness to train in managing Type 1 Diabetes, including insulin administration. Experience working with children with Autism, especially those who are non-verbal. Knowledge of alternative communication methods is highly desirable. Current first aid certification, including paediatric first aid, or willing to train. A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to caregiving. Can work under the guidance of the teaching and/or senior staff. Is able to assist with the development and implementation of individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Pastoral Care Programmes.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated with high expectations for pupils' care.
