They are an SME with a turnover of £5 million, 20 direct staff and a contract team of 6. Last year they were awarded Gold Level accreditation for the second time by investors in people. Your new role
will be reporting to the directors, collaborating with a team of estimators, and taking ownership of construction projects in the West Sussex area. Once the start date is confirmed, you will need to work independently to manage the project delivery and project finances. You will engage with customers to ensure an elevated level of customer satisfaction, be responsible for safety, programming of works, communication with architects/consultants, ordering of materials, supervision of direct and subcontract labour, practical completion, and handover packs. The estimating team would support you by tracking the monthly valuations, variations, reporting on the running costs and supporting you with completing their projects on time and within budget. What you'll need to succeed
is a proven history in the UK in a similar role as a construction site manager that has worked for a building contractor in the residential and commercial market. It is also desired to have experience in the high-end residential construction sector, with experience of delivering work up to £1m in value. You will also need to have experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously and technical knowledge of design and engineering problems on site. You will be proficient in IT Systems, MS Excel, and project management software. You will be from a trade background or formally trained within education but have gained site experience as the number one site manager. You will have an elevated level of communication, the right to work in the UK, and live in the West Sussex area. You will have a stable work history, so freelance CIS candidates need not apply.
