Purpose of the Job:
RENEWABLE GASES EUROPE (RGE) is ENGIE’s business entity responsible for the development of renewable and low carbon gases production in Europe. Since 2015, ENGIE has been developing biomethane production activity. At the beginning of 2023, its portfolio includes 26 plants in operation, of which 19 are self-operated, with a total production capacity of 550 GWh/y @100% and a development pipeline of 1.4 TWh/y.
ENGIE is determined to become a leading player in 1G biomethane in Europe. The ambition is to grow rapidly to reach 10 TWh/y of biomethane production capacity by 2030.
In Europe, outside France, biomethane production projects are already under development in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Poland and Italy. Spain, Portugal and Romania are other countries of interest. The strategy is to develop projects, greenfield and through M&A, to inject biomethane into the gas grid or to produce bioLNG.
Under the responsibility of the Head of Engineering, the Engineering Manager reports functionally to the Engineering Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the main interface between RGE engineering team and projects’ engineering contractors.
Supervise and manage engineering contractors during the project lifetime.
Ensure the production of engineering deliverables follows RGE standards and are produced on time according to the project schedule, and on budget.
Review, comment (and/or coordinate reviews/comments within RGE engineering team), and control the quality of contractors’ design deliverables.
Support the construction team during construction as the main technical interface between RGE construction team and the engineering contractor.
Ensure capitalization of lessons learned and continuous improvement of engineering standards and practices.
Be responsible for prefeasibility studies and diagnostics for upgrades and retrofit projects.
Collect the list of existing engineering documents and identify missing information/documents required to carry out the project.
Control or define a list of diagnostics to be done to assess site/equipment existing conditions to perform the works (electricity, underground conditions, civil, static equipment, rotating equipment, piping, instrumentation and control, safety etc.).
Propose temporary work to maintain site activity in accordance with the operation team, if necessary.
Define the list of engineering deliverables to be produced for the works in accordance with the RGE engineering team.
Review and comment on engineering deliverables.
Proofread and comment on supplier offers.

RGE teams Europe: Project Management, Industrialization, Business Development, Operation, Procurement
Suppliers and contractors
Other Group Engineering teams, Group Corporate: Knowledge Management Team
Qualifications & Experience:
Relevant experience in construction site field experience.
Experience in engineering positions in energy/water/waste treatment/industry in an EPC contractor company.
Experience with working in a project-oriented culture, based on collaborative, agile and innovative ways of working.
Languages:
Fluent in French alongside English is a plus.
Skills:
Leadership.
Multicultural team management, good understanding of cultural differences and ability to manage them.
Strong interpersonal and relationship/cooperation skills.
Very familiar with Engineering entities/matrix organization.
Change management skills, open-minded and supportive of change.
