Role overview:
The Financial Controller will have full ownership of all Financial Control activities for the L3Harris Commercial Training Systems UK entities, including transactional processing, periodic reporting, SOX compliance and other activities. Work closely with the entities Commercial Finance and FP&A teams to continually improve processes and develop a best-in-class control environment.

Core responsibilities will involve:
Day to day management and leadership of 6 direct reports
Oversee the preparation of the monthly and quarterly results including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow and variance analysis
Ensure General Ledger and robust Balance Sheet controls are maintained, implemented and applied consistently
Support the delivery of best practice approaches to the Order to Cash and Purchase to Pay processes, including ongoing metrics
Drive through improvement initiatives, providing support and guidance to functional leads
Provide support and guidance to the payroll function, enhancing the control environment
Oversight on all UK HFM reporting
Responsible for all key returns and reports on behalf of L3 CTS, including statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, SAO tax documentation, dealing with auditors, etc.
Proactively streamline processes, identifying opportunities to eliminate waste
Partner with upstream process owners supporting company-wide initiatives, and overseas colleagues driving synergies and standardisation
Ad hoc projects, reporting and analysis
Qualification and educational requirements:
ACA ‘big4’ Qualified with post qualification experience gained within large blue chip organizations
Essential skills and experience:
Experience in leading a full accounting function including GL, AP, AR, Payroll & Banking
The ideal candidate will be an ambitious, proactive accountant that likes driving change, and creating a best in class finance department
Strong leadership/team development experience, minimum 3 years
UK statutory accounts and external audit
Experience working in a fast moving PE-backed environment
Gravitas to challenge and support stakeholders of all levels across the business and challenge the status quo
Self-starter with ability to work on own initiative, spot issues early and liaise effectively with key stakeholders
Strong communicator that can tailor their approach to the audience and present with impact
Resilient, able to work under pressure in a fast-changing environment
