What's the role about? We are looking to recruit two GIS analysts into our Conservation Data Management Unit. One will focus on running GIS training and providing rapid, responsive support to our GIS users. The other will focus on detailed GIS analysis, spatial data management, and mobile data collection. However, due to the responsive, dynamic nature of the work, there will be overlap between the roles. In both roles, you will support hundreds of staff across the RSPB, helping maximise the conservation impact of our spatial data. You will work closely with colleagues to identify their GIS requirements. Using the suite of ESRI mapping products, you will analyse spatial data to answer vital conservation questions. This software will also be used to create and manage data collection apps, which will be used on our nature reserves, and by other field staff. Your outputs will include visually engaging, informative maps and dashboards for a range of audiences, ensuring that RSPB is influential when presenting our case and telling our stories. You will work with colleagues to nurture and develop their GIS skills. You will be part of a group responsible for ensuring that our GIS data are up-to-date and accessible. GIS is a rapidly evolving field. You must have an interest in developing your skills, and staying current with key advances, such as new tools, techniques, and datasets. Essential skills, knowledge and experience: Knowledge of how to use mapping software, such as ArcGIS. Knowledge of GIS, spatial data management, and information management good practice. Experience using coaching to help others develop their skills and/or knowledge. The ability to become proficient with all aspects of GIS software, including scripting languages such as Python and SQL. The ability to provide a high level of customer care. Logical, methodical, patient, and friendly with excellent attention to detail. Closing date:
