Position Overview: As a Nursery Practitioner in our Early Years Setting, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and education to young children. You will work as part of a dedicated team to create a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters each child's holistic development. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with children, possess strong communication skills, and be committed to following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework to ensure the best outcomes for the children in our care. Responsibilities: Childcare and Development: Provide a safe, secure, and stimulating environment for children to explore, learn, and play. Observe and monitor children's progress, development, and behavior, keeping accurate records and contributing to individual learning plans. Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities, experiences, and play opportunities that promote children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Supporting Learning and Play: Engage with children in both structured and unstructured activities, encouraging their curiosity and creativity. Support language and communication development through storytelling, reading, and interactive conversations. Foster positive relationships with children, creating an atmosphere of trust and encouragement. Health, Safety, and Well-being: Ensure the nursery environment is safe, clean, and well-maintained, conducting regular risk assessments. Assist with the personal care needs of children, including feeding, toileting, and nap times, while promoting their independence and self-help skills. Follow health and hygiene guidelines, including administering first aid when necessary. Parent and Guardian Communication: Establish open and effective communication with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on their child's progress, achievements, and well-being. Listen to and address any concerns or queries parents may have with empathy and professionalism. EYFS Compliance: Familiarize yourself with and implement the EYFS framework in daily practice, ensuring all activities and observations align with its principles. Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain accurate records, track children's development, and contribute to assessments and reports. Qualifications and Requirements: A relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education or a related field (e.g., Level 3 Early Years Educator). Previous experience working with young children in an early years setting is preferred but not mandatory. A genuine love for working with children and a commitment to providing a supportive and caring environment for their growth. Excellent communication skills, both with children and adults, fostering positive relationships with families and colleagues. A basic understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and its implementation in daily practice. Preferred qualifications (not mandatory): Pediatric First Aid certification.
