Principal duties and responsibilities To act as a Senior Key worker and formulate care plans in accordance with the service users’ needs and wishes and to update as needs change, ensuring that all junior care staff contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the service. To supervise junior staff, providing support and assistance, including carrying out spot checks on Home Carers and completing reviews and assessments on Service users as required. To report any issues to the management team and maintain records of daily activities, observations, and direct hours of service. To ensure service delivery in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures. To ensure that the Service User understands their Care and how the allocated hours are to be negotiated. To support Service Users in achieving their defined outcomes as detailed in their Care Delivery Plan, including personal activities of daily living. To engage and liaise with other professionals or services to support Service Users' needs. To act as community connectors and facilitate access to services that offer support. To understand the importance of working in partnership with key stakeholders and professionals. To be fully aware of responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding, Protection from Abuse, and professional boundaries. Education and Qualifications
Good Basic Education Level 2 in Health and Social care or equivalent NCFE Level 2 in Safe Handling of Medicines
Level 3 in Health and Social care or equivalent
General Intelligence
Good general intelligence, clear reasoning ability, time management skills, able to multitask, problem-solving skills
Work Experience
Ability to follow instructions, at least 6 months experience in a role caring for the elderly, experience in working as a team member
Previous experience in a senior role caring for the elderly, supervisory experience
Special Aptitudes
Good written and oral communication skills, empathy with residents, leadership skills
