Job Description - Associate: Financial Restructuring and Insolvency (240001J4) Are you ready to make your mark as part of the Financial Restructuring and Insolvency practice in our London office? As an associate, you will handle complex, high-profile cross-border restructurings and insolvencies. Working closely with partners and colleagues across various practice areas, you will regularly interact with lawyers in our global offices and may travel internationally as required. Our team has a balanced practice, recognised for its expertise in both company-side and creditor-side mandates. You will advise companies, insolvency practitioners, banks, investment funds, and other financial institutions on cross-border restructurings, insolvencies, distressed debt investments and financings, and other special situations. Responsibilities include conducting research, drafting documents, and managing relationships with clients and external counsel. We emphasise professional development, giving associates significant responsibility early in their careers. We seek candidates with a commercial mindset, entrepreneurial drive, and a keen interest in cross-border financial matters. A confident team player, you should enjoy working as part of a cohesive group and be willing to support colleagues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for forming strong professional relationships and explaining complex legal and financial concepts clearly. Highly organised and deadline-driven, you should thrive in delivering outstanding work within client timeframes. Key responsibilities

Assist in transactional and advisory work by participating in commercial discussions alongside clients from the outset, providing initial advice on structuring and implementation under the guidance of senior lawyers in the group. Advise a wide range of clients with differing interests, such as bondholders/other creditors and company-side, ensuring tailored guidance for each scenario. Conduct and oversee comprehensive legal research to support various projects and client needs. Engage proactively with clients to build and maintain strong relationships, providing strategic advice and addressing their needs. Collaborate closely with partners and colleagues across various practice areas and offices within the firm to provide integrated legal services. Collaborate with and supervise more junior team members, fostering their development and enhancing the team's overall capabilities. Develop and share legal and sector knowledge both internally and externally. Qualifications and Skills

2-3 years’ post qualification experience in financial restructuring and insolvency work at a top-tier international law firm. Experience with high yield bond transactions is advantageous. Demonstrate technical excellence and commercial awareness. Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
