We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our Digital Services team. This role involves contributing to the successful delivery and maintenance of a wide-reaching data warehouse, crucial for our business-critical systems and processes. The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise, support the development of reporting systems, and ensure compliance with industry data standards.

Data Engineer Annual Salary:

£38,000 - £44,000 per annum

Location:

Newcastle upon Tyne (once monthly office working)

Job Type:

Full-time, permanent

Day-to-day of the role:

Support the delivery of a wide-reaching data warehouse and reporting system, including the use of dashboards. Provide specialist advice on data metrics and standards, ensuring their accurate representation in the data warehouse. Assist in the creation and maintenance of mandated datasets and statutory returns. Collaborate with the Data Warehouse Manager to enhance data interpretation and reporting capabilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Advanced knowledge of relational databases and information systems. Proficient in MS SQL Server, including SQL Server Management Studio, T-SQL, SSIS packages, and query tuning. Experience with ETL processes and building functional dashboards. Strong analytical skills with the ability to handle complex data and provide actionable insights. Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical advice in a clear, understandable manner. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a senior information role within an information management and technology department.
