Location:

Salary:

£65,000 with executive car allowance and bonus on top.

What you’ll be doing: You will contribute to setting objectives and managing the performance of a team. Work with Senior Leaders and Cost Account Managers to lead the annual budget planning cycle resulting in a 5-year plan for the department's cost base. Manage quality assuring activities and challenge our Basis of Estimates that underpin our cost base budgets and Estimates at Completion. Ensure that we have our costs under appropriate control and that financial opportunities & vulnerabilities are managed and reported on monthly. Oversee the governance of the processes and training of Cost Account Managers within the department. Lead monthly Business Reviews as well as the annual cost benchmarking activity. Work with colleagues in the BAE Systems Group, maritime and land Sector and Shared Services to shape future needs and align processes.

Your skills and experiences:

Essential Good experience of senior stakeholder management influencing and networking will be required. A good ability to understand, breakdown and communicate complex issues to a variety of stakeholders. You will need to hold a recognised accounting qualification and a proven history of operating within a complex organisation. Strong planning, communication and analytical skills. Leadership / People development experience will be required in the role.

Desirable Experience of working in a cost estimating and / or finance role. Experience of working in an IT department would be an advantage.

The Operations, Technology and Enablement team:

By joining us in the team, you will be responsible for ensuring that we have appropriate financial controls and processes in place. These are to be aligned to our wider business processes to manage and challenge our department's cost base, ensuring that we deliver the IT services and capabilities that our wider Submarine business requires. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
