We are excited to advertise a 12 month fixed term maternity cover in the Microbiology laboratory at Southampton General Hospital. The role would be working core hours, Monday-Friday 09:00-17:30. We are looking for a specialist BMS with extensive knowledge in all aspects of Bacteriology. The laboratory provides a full clinical diagnostic service including parasitology, mycology, an extensive AST section, and provides TB testing for several hospitals. Essential criteria
HCPC approved Biomedical Science degree (BSc) or other HCPC approved degree/top ups HCPC registered Evidence of current CPD activities Significant previous experience in a medical laboratory IBMS specialist portfolio (in relevant discipline) or equivalent Desirable criteria
IT competency (hospital IT systems, Outlook, Microsoft) Experience in a large acute hospital laboratory Skills and competencies
