Working as part of our Waste and Generation Team, you will have an opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects including conventional EfW plants, district heating, gasification projects, hydrogen generation schemes and multiple biogas production projects.
In this role, you will be involved in the whole project life cycle, from optioneering through to detailed design and installation. You will be involved with feasibility studies, site surveys, and investigations. You will work collaboratively with clients, partners, and other team members to develop designs and project-wide solutions across a wide variety of projects within Stantec's Energy and Resources sector.
As Designers in the construction/energy/waste sectors, it is incumbent on us to take our responsibility for HSE matters seriously, and we foster a culture of open scrutiny and continuous improvement in these areas.
You will have experience within Mechanical Engineering or a related field, and be either chartered or working towards chartered status. Our team is routinely engaged in producing technical specifications, schedules, and reports. We support collaborative design outputs, such as General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams. You should have a good understanding of a number of these activities and be happy to communicate technical updates to clients and team members.
Our team will be expected to create specifications and scoping documents for the award of construction packages and assess vendor designs and progress. Ideally, you would demonstrate some experience in these areas. Most importantly, you will embody and support our values of client focus, designing with community in mind, collaboration, and service excellence.
The Energy Transition is the fundamental shift underway in how we, as a global community, produce, distribute, and consume energy, with the overarching goal of transitioning to a lower carbon future.
