The Breast Service at Antrim Area Hospital invites candidates to apply for our full-time Consultant Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon position. The inpatient service provides care for the residents of the Northern Health & Social Care Trust, dealing with approximately 6000 new referrals and generating a cancer workload of approximately 400 per annum, including screen-detected cancers. This is the regional Unit for High Risk MRI screening and carries out Breast Screening for the Northern Area. This post has no General Surgery commitments and is a retirement replacement post. The breast surgery service at Antrim Hospital is delivered by a team of 4 surgeons, committed to a multidisciplinary approach to breast cancer. Candidates must demonstrate sub-specialty training in the full range of Breast Surgery. Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. For more information, visit
www.gmc-uk.org . Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. The Trust welcomes applicants who have followed the Portfolio Pathway / CESR route as an equivalent means of obtaining specialty registration.
