We are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated individual to the role of Band 3 Health Care Support Worker on the Acute Medical Assessment Unit (AMAU). AMAU is a hub of activity, providing the key to safe effective patient treatment and flow. We manage medical patients and receive all medical emergencies via ambulance within the locality. Our aim is to provide seamless, high-quality care for patients using our service. We are looking for motivated and dynamic Band 3 Health Care Support Worker, who is able to work under pressure, to join our dedicated team of staff on the Acute Medical Assessment Unit in Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli. The unit is made up of 24 beds and includes 3 resus beds where we are able to directly admit emergency patients from the ambulances. The successful candidate will have experience working within a relevant Health Care Support Worker role across AMAU and be expected to liaise with key members of the team and service users, as well as engaging in all aspects of patient care. Phlebotomy and Electrocardiography (ECG) competency are essential for this post. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. Qualifications and Knowledge

Good level of general education Have a good understanding of health and/or social care e.g. Clinical Observations etc NVQ 3 in a health related subject or equivalent experience Maintain a record of own personal development Recognises the need for lifelong learning Demonstrates an understanding of the role and scope of practice of the HCSW and understands the principles of safe delegation of care Confirmation of successful completion of 120 credits at level 4 Experience

Recent and/or previous experience of working within a relevant health/ social care environment Experience of speciality Experience of working as a healthcare support worker Skills2Care Language Skills
