Our client, a north sea operator, is currently recruiting for the position of Contracts Specialist, based in Aberdeen. This is a 12-month PAYE contract role.

The Contracts Specialist will be involved with tendering, negotiating, awarding, and managing a variety of contracts for corporate and asset-based requirements. There may also be an element of procurement work required. The individual needs to have a very hands-on, proactive approach to the role and be able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Preparation of robust contract strategy documents in conjunction with asset managers / contract owners. Issuance of tender documents to the market, managing bid submissions, evaluating quotations, coordinating clarifications and meetings with bidders, negotiating commercial aspects. Making recommendations for award and submissions to the contracts review board. Preparation and issuance of contract documentation, liaising with legal personnel where necessary. Management of claims and changes. Post-award management of contracts / purchase orders to ensure performance is achieved and deliverable obligations met. Issuance and management of call-off orders against existing company framework agreements. Specific Requirements: Considerable experience in a similar role and environment. Must have a working knowledge of the oil and gas industry and be familiar with standard forms and typical contract structures, i.e., LOGIC. Effective negotiation and communication skills. High degree of computer literacy with experience in using typical supply chain systems and standard Microsoft packages. Bachelor's degree level educated. MCIPS qualified would be a distinct advantage.
