Involved in the development and delivery of veterinary services throughout the charity with specific responsibility for the cat centres and local volunteer run sites in the Southeast of England. Complete regular visits, alongside attending regional conferences and networking meetings to ensure the efficient and effective running of cat centres and local volunteer run sites. Ensure that all veterinary work being carried out by both employees and volunteers falls within the Cat Protection’s policies and guidelines. Assist in the development of new guidance and deliver presentations to our volunteers, staff and the veterinary profession. About the Field Veterinary team:
Responsible for ensuring that the behaviour and welfare, husbandry and treatment of cats in Cats Protection’s care is always maintained to a high standard. Supports cat centres, local volunteer run sites and all other departments by offering advice, assistance and training where required. Provide guidance to veterinary professionals and the public by responding to veterinary, behaviour or welfare queries. The team will be expanding to consist of a Senior Field Veterinary Officer and 4 Field Veterinary Officers. What we’re looking for in our Field Veterinary Officer:
A degree in veterinary medicine. Currently registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons to practise in the UK. A full, manual driving license is essential. Significant experience working in a small animal practice. Self-motivation and the ability to work on own initiative. The ability to work accurately, under pressure and can manage conflict. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral. What we can offer you:
