If so, we are looking for an experienced Associate Director to join and help lead their client’s structural engineering team in Hemel Hempstead. You will be joining a team of like-minded experts that have a passion for delivering excellent client service and continuously seek innovative ways to enhance their projects and services. Job Description: You will be responsible for: Overseeing the successful technical and commercial execution of projects and managing personnel and resources. As Associate Director, you will be a people-oriented and capable manager and communicator, able to develop strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and fellow professionals. Coordinating and contributing to work winning and business development activities, actively developing and maintaining relationships with existing and new clients and stakeholders. Assisting with the production of proposals for new projects and managing the commercial performance of projects. Playing a key role in defining and influencing the company culture. Setting the tone for communication and collaboration within the team, helping to foster good levels of employee engagement, and increasing productivity and efficiency in a positive and supportive environment. You will need to be from an engineering consultancy background with the ability to: Prepare technical outputs to the highest standards in accordance with the client’s ISO9001 quality management system. Provide direction and technical advice to more junior project team members, taking a proactive role in developing team members to their full potential. Develop effective teamwork within both the client and as part of a wider design team of other key stakeholders. Manage the delivery of multi-disciplinary schemes (civil, structural, geo-environmental) as well as deliver all technical structural engineering services, demonstrating strong communication and client management skills. Negotiate technical approvals and similar agreements. Be responsible for the financial performance of projects, maximizing efficiency and contributing to the delivery of the client’s commercial aims. Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, contributing to the preparation of technical and financial proposals and bids. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s or Master’s degree qualification (or equivalent experience) in Civil Engineering. Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers (CEng IStructE) or equivalent. Significant experience within engineering consultancy or other relevant business. Design experience in a range of structural engineering projects, with a focus on the residential sector. Experience of structural surveys and investigation, with heritage experience being desirable. Your skills profile will include excellent leadership qualities and a strong track record of managing technical teams. Client-focused approach to service delivery.
