Friday, 14th February 2025 at 23:59 Blackpool has been awarded the prestigious National Institute of Health Research's Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) funding - one of only 10 such awards made across the country. £5 million over 5 years will enable us to deliver an innovative programme of research that will support Blackpool to become fully research active. We will scale up our highly innovative community co-research model to improve the unacceptable health inequalities faced by our community, putting the Blackpool community at the heart of everything we do. To achieve this, Blackpool Council will work alongside Lancaster University, Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, a range of community partners, and crucially, our residents as equal partners in this ambitious and groundbreaking project. Position Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced

Research Lead Workforce Development

who will lead the capacity/capability building element of the project. The role involves developing and delivering support, coaching, mentoring, and formal training for Blackpool Council officers, teams, and projects to develop and embed a research-informed approach to their work. Additionally, the post holder will develop research bids, deliver generic research activity, and create a wide range of accessible research outputs as well as research papers for publication. The position is part of the HDRC Research Team in Blackpool Council. Requirements

This post requires access to PSN (Public Services Network) services or networks, and the successful post holder will be required to undertake a Basic Disclosure check of unspent convictions through the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS). This post is also subject to satisfactory references, medical clearance, evidence of any essential qualifications, and proof of legal working in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.
