As the demand to deliver exceptional engineering design from our clients continues to grow, an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Substation Primary Design Engineer. This role will be reporting to the Discipline Lead – HV and will be responsible ensuring the quality and consistency of the teams output in the production and control of drawings and technical documents.

You will manage the production of project deliverables through a robust checking process as well as support the CAD technicians with the development of drawings and support the actual delivery of the outputs. You will also work with the Power Sector Director to assist during the bid process in order to secure further work. About You You will have demonstrable design experience on transmission networks. You will be enthusiastic and able to operate in a diverse team and work without full time supervision. You will have experience in HV Substation design You will have National Grid or Scottish & Southern Electricity experience Must have experience in Dynamic force calcs (rigid and flexible busbar calcs) Experience in developing single line diagrams, plans and elevations for a substation and developing equipment specifications Able to fulfill CDM obligations (regulations, risk assessments etc) Why this role?
