As a registered Clinical Scientist in Audiology, you'll be at the forefront of delivering audiology services to both adults and children. This involves assessing, diagnosing, and managing hearing and balance disorders. Your expertise will contribute to meeting the auditory needs of our population, ensuring that everyone receives appropriate care. You'll play a pivotal role in educating and training various healthcare professionals. You will ensure that audiology services adhere to best practices and evidence-based guidelines, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care. Main duties of the job

In this broad-based role, you would be expected to have the skills to lead clinics across adult, paediatric, and vestibular services as required, but we would particularly encourage applications from scientists with experience of electrophysiological testing. You would be based at City Health Campus but also work at our outpost clinics in Sutton Coldfield and Lyng Health Centre in West Bromwich. There will also be a requirement to work at the newly built Midland Metropolitan Hospital. As a Senior Clinical Scientist, you would have the opportunity to participate in service development and would be expected to contribute to the team by ensuring that clinical practice within the department is evidence-based, developing clinical guidelines, protocols, and undertaking clinical audits as appropriate. About us

Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBT) is an integrated care organisation with a budget of approximately £600 million and over 7,000 staff. Diversity and social care is at the core of what we do as the Trust provides Community and Acute Services to over half a million people in an urban centre that demands massive regeneration and has substantial premature mortality. Our new acute hospital, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), opens in 2024 and will provide care to our local population from first-class, purpose-built premises. As a result, the base of this role may change to MMUH from 2024 (or beyond). If this is applicable to your role, you will be informed during the recruitment process and continuing your application with this understanding. The development of the new hospital will play an important role in the regeneration of the wider area and in improving the lives of local people and reducing health inequalities. We have three newly emerging strategic objectives: Our People - to cultivate and sustain happy, productive, and engaged staff Our Patients - to be good or outstanding in everything we do Our Population - to work seamlessly with our partners to improve lives Job responsibilities
