Free onsite parking About this role: We are looking for a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a passion for providing excellent, professional and effective care whilst ensuring our service users feel safe and respected. If you are someone who believes they make a difference to the lives of those living with chronic, complex mental and sometimes physical health needs, this could be the role for you. You will be working in a fast-paced rewarding environment with a supportive, talented team. Scope of Role: Collaboratively working with patients and their families to produce and update person centred care plans, writing accurate and reflective documentation including daily entries, nursing reports, incident reports, handovers and risk assessments based on nursing assessments and observations. Contributing to the service development by auditing and implementing the site improvement plans. Completing the medication administration and management on the unit. Excellent communication skills to engage well with the service-users, relatives, and external stakeholders always building therapeutic rapport. Knowledge of mental health act, mental capacity act and associated legislation. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Experience of working in a psychiatric hospital or large nursing home. A good understanding and experience of diagnoses, treatment and recovery. Good IT Skills – must be able to document/report service-user care records and incidents accurately on mobile devices and computer. A positive ‘can do’ attitude and a team player able to work in an adaptive way to a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities will include: To work collaboratively as a Primary/Named Nurse/Key worker within the multidisciplinary team, including liaising with associated professionals and other agencies. To ensure that patient centred care plans are developed, implemented, evaluated and recorded. To facilitate Nursing Home activities. To ensure risk management issues are assessed, identified and care planned for, any issues of concern communicated within the multidisciplinary team. To ensure effective communication with patients, carers, visitors and staff. To make effective use of evidence based practice in day-to-day clinical practice. To implement and ensure effective use of the Mental Health act where necessary. To ensure safe standards apply to the administration of medication. To ensure adherence to Hospital policies and procedures at all times. To assist with the development and/or revision of local policies and procedures as necessary. To supervise and monitor the use of supplies and equipment ensuring supplies are adequate and used appropriately. To assist in the maintenance of financial records as necessary. To be an effective role model to all staff within the working environment. To participate in teaching programmes with all staff including students. To participate in clinical supervision with personal supervisor. IND1 About Us Eltisley Manor is our 37-bed registered psychiatric nursing care home located near to St-Neots town centre (Cambridgeshire). The building is divided into different specialist areas caring for men and women aged 18+ suffering from enduring mental health issues and for those people nearing the end of their rehabilitation towards independent living. You will work as a valued member of our close knit, friendly and highly skilled team providing quality care within a caring, considerate environment.
