An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Children's Community Nursing Team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. The role will comprise of 31.5 hours.

The CCN team provides nursing care for children and young people with complex life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses in their home or other appropriate community settings.

Main duties of the job

Experience of working with children with special needs and complex health care needs (Essential) You will have achieved RSCN or RN Child Branch (Essential) 1st level degree or equivalent experience (Essential) 998 or equivalent teaching qualification (Essential) Community experience nursing children with special needs or complex health needs (Desirable) Knowledge of safeguarding children issues together with strong clinical skills (Essential) Excellent communication skills and the ability to demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development (Essential) Ability to work independently and time manage own caseload. Experience in assessment planning and provision of nursing care for children and young adults. A car driver with a full current driving license (Essential). Non-Medical Prescriber qualification (Desirable / willing to work towards)

1st level Registered Children's Nurse 1st level degree or equivalent experience Speciality related course at degree level Mentorship course

Teaching and assessing qualification Non-medical prescriber (or willing to work towards) Advanced communication course Sage and Thyme course

Experience

Significant, relevant (post registration) experience with two years or more in speciality area Facilitate and support learning Awareness of Quality Assurance/peer review process Management and leadership experience

Evidence of leading a change project Experience of quality assurance/peer review process Community experience nursing children with special needs or complex health needs
