Bristol Royal Hospital for Children is a specialised tertiary hospital, often taking the most complex referrals from both local and national centres and a designated major trauma centre for the South West of England. The successful candidate will provide highly specialist physiotherapy for children within neurosciences and the complex movement disorder service at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. Main duties of the job
To work within the intrathecal baclofen service alongside a multi-disciplinary team. Work within the paediatric deep brain stimulation team to deliver comprehensive and specialised assessments, and support in the post-operative management of children following surgery. To be actively involved in the further development and evaluation of the deep brain stimulation service working alongside the multi-disciplinary team. Provide a highly specialised service that includes the assessment, treatment and management of children referred to the complex movement disorder service (CMD), assisting in the development, planning and progression of service provision. Act as a source of expertise and demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience in the highly skilled management of children with complex neurological needs. To provide specialist advice to other members of the multi-disciplinary team and to provide clinical education and training to others within the Trust and externally. Be an active member of the weekend on-call service, undertaking assessment and treatment of acutely ill children. Working for our organisation

Qualifications and Training
Degree or equivalent in physiotherapy Registration with HCPC Evidence of relevant post graduate continued professional development Membership of the CSP Skills and Abilities
Excellent organisational and time management skills Excellent problem solving and analytical skills Ability to work independently as an autonomous practitioner Proven responsibility for own decision making whilst working closely within a team Sound IT skills e.g. Word, Excel, Internet, Video Conferencing Knowledge and Experience
Significant and appropriate post graduate experience across a wide range of acute specialities Experience of working within paediatrics neurosciences at a senior level (Band 6 or above) Evidence of working within a multidisciplinary team Previous experience of working with children with complex neurological needs Experience in using appropriate standardised outcome measures Proven experience of clinical audit, data collection and research Previous experience of service development Previous experience within a community setting Experience working in a botulinum toxin MDT Aptitudes and Behaviours
