Numerous professional development opportunities exist for our Neonatal Nurses to develop skills in leadership in areas such as quality improvement, research, outreach, dedicated transitional care, family integrated care, BFI, palliative care/bereavement, education and training (we run 4 NLS courses a year in Swindon) and risk and governance.
We are a local neonatal unit (LNU) within the south west ODN, with 5000 deliveries per year and approximately 10% born prematurely.
We are part of the Maternity and Neonatal services umbrella and have a very close multidisciplinary working ethos with our midwifery and obstetric team.

They are responsible for leading the nursing team, ensuring that the babies and their parents are at the center of everything we do.
