About the Role and our Ideal Candidate About the Role Clinical Psychologist - Adults with a Learning Disability Salary starting from £50,031 to closely match the NHS Band 8 equivalent Recruitment and Retention bonus consists of: £1000 Welcome bonus paid in your first month's salary £1000 Retention bonus for every completed year in service HCPC Registration Fee reimbursed To join a very exciting Learning Disability (LD) Psychology department reporting to the Lead Psychologist and assisting in the supervision of LD Behavioural specialists, LD Assistant Psychologists, and Trainee Psychologists. This is a really exciting opportunity to contribute to our MDT for people with a learning disability. In this role, you will be working at the Civic Centre in the London Borough of Sutton with a team that works across different sites in Sutton and consists of Learning Disability Nurses, LD Physios, Occupational Therapist, Dietician, and Speech and Language therapists, and Creative Arts Therapists (Music and Drama/Movement). Reporting to the Clinical Health Team Manager, you will be providing clinical services to adults with a learning disability who require highly specialist psychological input. Our objective is to deliver the best outcomes for the health of adults with a learning disability. You will deliver a specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment to our service users; for both individuals and groups whilst supporting the Assistant Psychologist in providing specialist clinical supervision, psychological advice, and training as required. This role supports the commitments set out in Sutton's Health and Social Care LD Strategy to help improve access to work, health, independence, and social participation. You will work collaboratively deploying your specialism to support the work of the wider team. Our Ideal Candidate Qualified Clinical Psychologist with 3-4 years post PhD experience including Adults with a Learning Disability. HCPC registered. Experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Positive Behavioural Support (PBS), LD assessment, and Dementia assessment. Extensive highly specialised knowledge and expertise in working with adults with learning disabilities. High level ability to communicate effectively at both written and oral levels complex, highly technical, and clinically sensitive information. Highly developed knowledge of theory and practice of highly specialised psychological therapies to deliver the specific level of care for adults with learning disabilities.
