Information Governance Lead and Data Protection Officer Salary up to £60K Location:

Home based with UK travel as required Purpose of the Role The Information Governance Lead and Data Protection Officer role will be the organisation's subject matter expert on all Information Governance related matters. They will set the foundational policies and procedures relating to data protection aligned to the UK Data Protection Act and GDPR, as well as monitoring and reporting compliance against them. Along with the Information Governance and Security Officer, they will handle all subject access requests, data enquiries and inter-business data transfers, providing advice and support to the business as appropriate. Undertake the statutory function of the Data Protection Officer for Lifeways Group Informing and advising on complying with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act Consulting with the Information Commissioners Office on Information Governance issues Provide advice and guidance in all areas of Information Governance, ensuring that knowledge and training on Information Governance is kept up to date and changes in legislation or policies are communicated effectively to teams at all levels within the Lifeways Group. Lead the response to data breaches, including assessment, mitigation, and reporting to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) when required. Deliver the review of Information Governance and record management strategy and policies across Lifeways, aligning ethical and technical IG requirements, and producing supporting documentation which is easily usable for teams across the business. Provide support in the development and implementation of the Information Governance Policies and Procedures Responsible for the delivery of compliance against the ISO27001, Cyber Essentials Plus and NHS DSP Toolkit Advise on the use, communication, and protection of personally identifiable information in line with the Caldicott Principles Working with the Head of Cyber Security and the Chief Information Officer, advise on aspects of information governance related to Cyber Security The ideal candidate will have the following essential skills and experience: Significant experience of delivering Information Governance and DPO services at a senior level Demonstrable experience of managing Information Governance, Freedom of Information Act requests and Data Subject Access requests in a complex organisation Degree level or equivalent industry experience Practitioner certificate in Data Protection or Certified Data Protection Officer ISEB Information Security Management Principles qualification or equivalent Evidence of continued professional development Member of relevant professional body Must be able to provide and receive highly complex, sensitive or contentious information, negotiate with senior stakeholders on difficult and controversial issues, and present complex and sensitive information to large and influential groups Significant experience of communicating with a wide range of people and in varied, sometimes challenging circumstances Problem solving skills and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands Experience of managing and motivating a team and reviewing performance of the individuals Desirable to have experience completing the Data Security and Protection Toolkit return Desirable to have experience in a health and social care environment Why Join Us: As well as working for a company that improves people's lives every day you will enjoy: Remote Working: Collaborative and inclusive culture that values diversity and promotes work-life balance Competitive compensation package with comprehensive benefits and perks Opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and projects in a company which embraces innovation Professional development opportunities and support for continuous learning and growth The opportunity to become multi-skilled as you work with the broader Technology department at a time of transformation Please ensure your CV clearly illustrates that you meet the essential criteria above as meeting these essential elements will give you the best opportunity to progress to interview stage.
