10th February 2025 We are seeking a new Technical Lead for Desktop Services. In this role you will be responsible for managing the technical implementation, configuration, optimisation and continual improvement of the colleague end-user device experience and productivity. You will work across a number of technologies, systems and hardware, as well as engaging with key business stakeholders, architects, HQ and third-party vendors to define technical approaches to ensure the operational integrity and security of the end-user computing environment. Main Responsibilities:

Oversee the performance, efficiency, and effectiveness of end-user devices (laptops, desktops, mobile devices) and associated software to ensure a seamless and productive experience for colleagues across all departments and locations. Act as the Technical Owner for end-user computing environments, ensuring high availability, security, and timely delivery of new hardware, software, and updates. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to maintain the reliability, security, and compliance of end-user devices and software with regulatory standards. Manage technical and service level agreements (SLAs) with third-party vendors to ensure services meet or exceed colleague expectations. Collaborate with architecture teams, HQ IT, vendors, and specialists to deliver compliant, future-proof end-user technology solutions that minimise operational risk and technical debt. Partner with business leaders and colleagues to understand their needs and develop end-user technology solutions that support business objectives. Drive continuous improvement by prioritising initiatives based on data-driven insights and colleague feedback, utilising statistical analysis to enhance the end-user experience. Lead change management processes for hardware refreshes, software updates, and new technology rollouts to minimise colleague disruptions. Experience you will bring to this role: In-depth knowledge of end-user computing technologies, including operating systems (Windows), hardware (laptops, desktops, mobile devices), software applications, and networking principles. Proven experience managing and supporting large-scale end-user computing environments, ensuring availability, performance, and security of devices and software. Strong understanding of endpoint security principles and best practices, including vulnerability management. Experience with hardware and software lifecycle management, including planning and executing hardware refreshes, software deployments, and patch management processes. Experience working in a fast-paced, service-oriented IT environment with a demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and provide excellent customer service to colleagues. Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) principles and practices, including incident, problem, and change management processes.
