A Senior / Mechanical Design Engineer

is required to join a niche aviation specialist as part of their engineering team who are working on the design and development of light helicopters for the global market. The company design, develop and manufacture their products in the UK from initial concept through to production.

With extensive financial backing and an extensive order book they are seeking to expand their engineering team with the appointment of several Senior / Mechanical Design Engineers specialising in the design and development of hydraulic, transmission, airframe, turbines, landing gear, rotors and engine products from initial concept through to production.

As Senior / Mechanical Design Engineer - you will be required to:

Develop mechanical design schemes and detailed designs of various aircraft parts and assemblies. Carry out the design and development of systems such as landing gear, flight controls, cabin seating, engine installations, transmission or rotor systems. Carrying out concept development for mechanical systems. Using hand calculations, simulation methods, modelling tools and CAE tools to size, analyse and optimise system elements. Carry out concept design of mechanical systems using 3D CAD. Develop part and system testing plans. Support in-house prototype build.

As Senior / Mechanical Design Engineer - you will have:

BSc/BEng in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or HNC/HDC with equivalent experience) Proven mechanical design, analysis & development experience Proficient in modelling parts & assemblies in 3D CAD Proficient in carrying out engineering calculations and the use of modelling and simulations software. (Mathcad, ANSYS or similar) Experience in developing mechanical systems from concept to reality
