If you want to help ensure that our customer data is well managed, protected during change and maintains its accuracy, then this could be the role for you. As a Data Governance Specialist, you will be responsible for managing our Data Side of Change process, supporting Platforms and business areas to focus on data quality, data accuracy and data lineage as part of the change lifecycle. In addition, you will play a pivotal role in providing oversight to the roll-out of the data accountabilities as part of the embedding plans in 2025. About this opportunity We have an exciting opportunity within Chief Controls Office in the Data Governance and Privacy team, where you'll help to improve and embed Consumer Lending’s approach to data management controls. Looking for the right candidate to join us on our journey to build a diverse, highly skilled workforce. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across multiple business areas, including Senior leaders as part of this role. Providing subject matter expertise to enable our Consumer Lending teams to trust and use their data, helping them to make informed decisions and provide better customer outcomes whilst reducing risk. What you’ll be doing Supporting the Data Side of Change (DSoC) process for Consumer Lending, providing advice and support to change practitioners to deliver compliantly.

Embedding data accountabilities, providing support to validate business areas have met the definitions of done set out by CDAO.

Managing the Data Office front-door process, triaging work requests into the team for prioritisation.

Maintaining workstream plans, using Teams Kanban to track progress and delivery.

Delivering control improvements as part of the 3-year risk reduction plans for data risks.

Generating analysis and insights to support Platform delivery against key data metrics.

Monitoring Collibra to track Platform and business delivery against plans.

What you’ll need We’re looking for a self-starter, who is highly motivated, with the ability to learn quickly. An effective collaborator and problem solver, with the drive to continuously improve our approach to data. You’ll be able to deliver clear communication across varied audiences and be highly organised. Specifically, we’re looking for: Knowledge and experience of Data Side of Change (DSOC), with good understanding of the conditions of approval requirements.

Confidence to engage senior stakeholders, to identify, plan and prioritise activity.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, varied working environment, meeting challenging deadlines.

Experience using key Group Data Management and Quality tools or strong willingness to learn how to use the tools.

Ability to explain complex issues in a compelling way to drive action.

The ability to prioritise tasks, to effectively manage competing demands and stakeholder challenges.

And any experience of these would be really useful: Knowledge and understanding of the Group Data policy and associated requirements.

Risk and control awareness, including use of the Group tooling, RCSA.

Understanding of project risk and dependency management, especially in a technical environment.

Data analytics experience, with the ability to create actionable insight.
