Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust provides a comprehensive range of Acute (mainly hospital-based) health services, serving residents of Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, and surrounding areas including Tonbridge, Sevenoaks and parts of north-east Sussex; and services, such as Oncology and Ophthalmology, across a wider area. We require an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to help support the Trust's Server Infrastructure. The role is based at Maidstone Hospital but cross-site working and out of hours cover will be required. Main duties of the job

The post holder will be part of a larger team providing comprehensive 2nd / 3rd line technical expertise supporting the Trust's: Physical and virtualised server estate across all sites Operating systems SQL databases Storage architecture Backup systems Change management The post holder will participate in the day to day management and monitoring of the server estate to ensure high availability of clinical and non-clinical applications. Assisting in the development of, and agreeing key performance indicators for the service with Trust colleagues will also be required. The post holder will be expected to provide project support to enable the Programme Management Team to deliver. About us

Qualifications

Relevant BTEC National or Higher National Diploma, Degree, Postgrad Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate - MCSA IT Infrastructure Library - Foundation Demonstrable Continued Professional Development Member of a Professional Body, e.g. BCS MCSE Experience/Knowledge

If no qualification, 7 years' comparable technical experience, 3 of which must be at a senior level Demonstrable and extensive experience and knowledge of server and systems architecture Participated in the development and maintenance of robust standard operating procedures, e.g. daily checks, fine tuning Ability to rapidly diagnose and fix incidents and problems remotely either by telephone or using a designated tool Load, setup and tuning of Microsoft Server products, e.g. 2016, 2019, 2022 Experience of working in a Microsoft Active Directory environment Experience of working with and supporting MS SQL Databases Experience of VMWare, Hyper-V Experience of Azure Experience of SCCM Experience of SANs Skills

Ability to analyse a range of complex technical issues and propose interim/permanent resolutions as appropriate Ability to explain technical issues in a non-technical way to colleagues Excellent written skills and demonstrable experience of participating in drafting and proofing technical procedures and system documentation Negotiation, influencing and persuading skills, including handling complaints tactfully Disclosure and Barring Service Check
