We are looking for an experienced, talented, and motivated individual to join the Commission for Gender Equality in the Public Sector (Commission) as Senior Adviser in the Stakeholder Engagement and Support team.
As Senior Adviser, you will play a vital role in operationalising the Gender Equality Act 2020 (Vic) (the Act), the ground-breaking legislation designed to improve gender equality outcomes for the Victorian public sector and wider Victorian community.
You will help ensure the Act's effectiveness by communicating with and influencing stakeholders to understand and promote the Act's obligations and using evidence to drive progress towards gender equality.
The successful candidate will be a high-performing and proactive advisor with experience in engagement, communications, policy-making, or related fields. You will be able to build collaborative relationships and networks, communicate effectively in written and verbal formats, and deliver a range of tasks under pressure. Experience in and/or understanding of gender equality work and the state, national, and international legislative context would be an advantage.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
Develop and deliver accurate and timely policy and stakeholder engagement advice related to the operation of the Gender Equality Act to the Public Sector Gender Equality Commissioner, Senior Executives, and the Minister for Women.
Provide high quality and timely support to stakeholders through effective case management, record management, and systems/administrative processes.
Develop written guidance, website content, social media content (including using Canva), communications, and presentations to inform stakeholders and support organisations to meet their obligations under the Act and promote best practices for supporting gender equality within public sector workplaces.
