The Pharmacy clinical trials unit at the Bristol Royal Infirmary is looking for a Senior Assistant Technical Officer (SATO) to join our dedicated Pharmacy clinical trials dispensing team and assist with our increasing portfolio of research studies across the Trust. The post will involve working within the trials dispensary and also assisting with the running of clinical trials in our 2 aseptic dispensing units. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, good organisational skills, be able to follow written procedures, work independently and communicate effectively. You must have completed your NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or be nearing completion). Duties will include dispensing of clinical trial medication, stock management, and maintenance of clinical trial records. Main duties of the job
Work as part of the Pharmacy clinical trials team. Ensure the accurate stock control, maintenance of records, and dispensing of trial material within the Pharmacy Trials Unit and aseptic units. Carry out all work in accordance with relevant standards and local Standard Operating Procedures with a high degree of accuracy. Communicate with a broad professional group, as well as members of the public and research sponsors. Represent the department and the Trust well at all times. Working for our organisation

Qualifications
Completed the NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services, or nearing completion 5 GCSE Level C equivalent passes including Maths and English Skills and Abilities
Good oral and written communication skills Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure Reliable and trustworthy Good team player Well motivated Demonstrate previous working to written procedures / follow directions accurately Proven organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload Ability to work without direct supervision Knowledge and Experience
