Make an Impact at RSM UK RSM’s Finance Function Support team is a leading market-focused business, providing corporate accounting services to national and multinational corporations, with a focus on helping them to remain compliant and providing insights to their operations. The team provides a comprehensive range of outsourcing services to its clients, which primarily include: bookkeeping and the preparation of periodic management accounts; the preparation and filing of statutory financial statements. We currently have a vacancy for a high-quality accountant to fill an Outsourcing Senior role.

In this role, you will act as the controller for a portfolio of clients, leading the reporting of management accounting information and ensuring the smooth running of the finance function. You will own the client relationship, maintaining regular communication with client principals and building strong, trusted relationships.

You will also have the opportunity to support the preparation and filing of statutory accounts for the same portfolio of clients, working on the complete compliance cycle. This includes preparing and/or managing statutory accounts under FRS102 or IFRS, handling group reconstructions and accounting considerations, converting to different GAAPs, drafting technical analysis, and providing acquisition accounting support.

The role will require that you take responsibility for supervising and coaching Assistants within the team, as well as reporting into the team management and Directorate on such matters as effective financial management of your own portfolio and participation in group training meetings.

The successful candidate can expect to attend the London office at least three days per week.

You'll make an impact by: Timely and accurate preparation of all deliverables, including management accounts, VAT returns, and statutory accounts. Supervising Assistants on bank reconciliations and sales/purchase ledger activities including ensuring correct and timely posting of invoices to General Ledger and AP/AR subledgers and timely and accurate execution of payments to vendors and other creditors. Taking responsibility for a client portfolio including WIP/billing management. Working with clients to resolve issues within finance function or accounting records and systems.

What we are looking for: We value diverse experiences and perspectives. Here’s what we’re looking for in our ideal candidate: Part or Fully qualified ACCA/ACA or minimum 5 years QBE. Experience of working in a professional practice, ideally in an equivalent Outsourcing team. Experience in supervision of junior staff. Experience in financial services and/or real estate sector (desirable). A strong understanding of UK financial reporting requirements (UK GAAP) or IFRS. Ability to work independently and demonstrate flexibility in changing client environments. Ability to demonstrate commercial awareness to financial management of own portfolio.
