The Amazon Payment Payments (APP) supports multiple payment products and processes millions of transactions every day across numerous countries and payment methods. Over 100 million customers and merchants send tens of billions of dollars moving at light-speed through our systems annually, and use our products on and off Amazon. We are seeking a talented and innovative System Development Engineer II to join our MAPLE team, a machine learning platform within APP. In this role, you will spearhead front-end development efforts for our MAPLE products, embracing and implementing new technologies and support data platform(s). An ideal candidate will be proficient in modern JavaScript frameworks, have a strong understanding of responsive design, and experience with version control systems.

Key job responsibilities

You design, implement, and deploy technology components that solve complex problems generating positive feedback. You have a solid understanding of design approaches (and how to best use them). Your work is consistently of a high quality (e.g., secure, testable, maintainable, low-defects, efficient, etc.) and incorporates best practices. Your team trusts your work. You focus on operational excellence, constructively identifying problems and proposing solutions, taking on projects that improve your team’s systems, making them better and easier to maintain. You have established good working relationships with teammates and peers working on related systems. You recognize discordant views and take part in constructive dialogue to resolve them. Your design and implementation (code, change, deployment, etc.) reviews tend to be rapid and uneventful. You provide useful reviews for designs and implementations submitted by others. You are able to confidently train new teammates about your customers, what your team’s systems do, how they are constructed, tested, operate, and how they fit into the bigger picture. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust Experience with Linux/Unix Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes Experience building services using AWS products PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
