Description
The Head of Cold Store Operations will manage a new cold storage facility for meat products from its establishment. This leader will design operational processes, recruit and develop a high-performing team, and ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry standards. They will also spearhead the implementation and optimization of a new ERP system to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Setup and Planning:
Collaborate on facility design to optimize operations for meat handling. Develop protocols for temperature control, hygiene, and sourcing essential equipment. Operational Management:
Oversee daily operations, maintaining efficiency, safety, and cold chain integrity. Manage inventory, prevent spoilage, and apply lean practices to minimize waste and maximize throughput. ERP Implementation:
Lead ERP implementation and staff training for tracking inventory and compliance. Collaborate to resolve system issues and enhance functionality. Compliance and Safety:
Ensure regulatory compliance, conduct safety audits, and enforce HACCP protocols to uphold hygiene and prevent contamination. Performance Monitoring:
Track KPIs for efficiency, inventory turnover, and quality. Provide reports on operations and identify cost-saving improvements. Financial Management:
Manage budgets to balance cost control and service standards. Offer financial forecasts for strategic decision-making. Process Improvement:
Continuously refine workflows and implement lean principles to reduce inefficiencies and promote a culture of improvement. Key Qualifications
Proven experience managing cold storage or warehouse operations, preferably in the meat industry. Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
