The University of Exeter's Law School is looking for two people to fill a part-time temporary role from Sunday 16th February to Friday 21st February. The purpose of the role is to provide Thai-language orientation and support to a group of over 100 Thai professionals taking part in an Executive Education programme with the Exeter Law School. This role will be broad but will include: Ensuring a professional welcome presence on behalf of the University and the Exeter Law School Advice and signposting to shops and other Campus services and facilities Answering practical questions about the day's programme (e.g. what time is lunch) Translating any questions from the group to the delegation during breaks Offering general support for Law School academics and Thai attendees as required to help ensure smooth delivery of the course There will be professional interpreters for the taught element of the course. Your role will be to provide informal translation and information at the start and end of each day, and during breaks to help make the Thai delegates feel comfortable at Exeter. Specific tasks include: Sunday 16 February: The first day will involve meeting the party at the London airport. Travelling on a coach (empty) from Exeter to London Heathrow Airport for 0900hrs, meeting the group at the arrivals gate to welcome them and assisting them onto the coach. You will then accompany them on a sightseeing tour of London before returning to Exeter around 1900hrs when they will check into their hotel. On Thursday 22 February you will accompany the group on a sightseeing tour, most likely to the city of Bath. Specific dates and hours will be confirmed during the recruitment process. Applications are welcomed from anyone interested in undertaking all or part of the total hours. This role is open to internal applicants only. As a member of University staff, you must ensure that if you take on this role, your total weekly working hours do not exceed 36.5. You will be engaged on a temporary basis under the University's employment policies. As a member of staff, these additional temporary hours will be claimed for via an online form.
