Office of the Land Access Ombudsman; Brisbane CBD As the Project Manager – LAO Transition, you will establish and contribute to the effective operation of the LAO by managing the project that effectively completes the LAO transition from a government department to Statutory Body by delivering the Project at the LAO in accordance with legislation, departmental frameworks, policies, and priorities. You will provide high quality, timely advice to the Land Access and proactively identify gaps in service delivery and opportunities for improvement, working collaboratively with others to action these improvements. About us : The office of the Land Access Ombudsman (LAO) is an independent statutory office that provides independent, free, fair, and accessible dispute resolution services to landholders and resource authority holders in relation to land access disputes about alleged breaches of conduct and compensation agreements (CCAs) and make good agreements (MGAs). The LAO operates under the direction and control of the Land Access Ombudsman. The Ombudsman is appointed under the Land Access Ombudsman Act 2017. Officers of the LAO are appointed under the Public Sector Act 2022. About the role : In this role you will : Lead and contribute to the enhancement of workplace safety and health in the work environment, including providing a safe and discrimination-free workplace. Develop and manage budgets, business plans, and workforce capability plans necessary for the achievement of LAO transition outcomes. Manage strategic projects to ensure the successful delivery of all required objectives and desired outcomes. Manage projects and operational requirements in an environment of competing priorities through change management. Represent the LAO at a range of forums with key stakeholders including external contacts. Contribute to the management of the team by influencing the way in which the LAO functions, including budget development, business improvement, team morale initiatives, and strategic and operational planning. Provide accurate authoritative advice and policy recommendations to the Land Access Ombudsman in relation to governance issues in a timely manner. Other duties as directed and required. This position requires : While there are no mandatory requirements for this role, a tertiary qualification in Public Sector Administration, Governance, Human Resource or Financial Management, or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
