Structural Heart Valve Disease Trainee Enhanced Nurse Practitioner

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced cardiology nurse to join the Structural Heart Valve Disease team (SHVD). The job holder will support the SHVD team to care for patients via the percutaneous programme, including Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implant (TAVI), TEER, and Tendyne. They will work with divisions to develop and deliver excellent patient care that aligns with workforce priorities. The role will focus on specific TAVI and TEER led patient care and staff training priorities, with expectations to deliver cross Trust or other clinical sites training initiatives. The post holder will actively maintain patient pathway care from referral through to inpatient and outpatient care. The job holder will be expected to work hours between Monday to Friday, with flexibility in how the hours are achieved. Main duties of the job
Act as a clinical expert providing specialist knowledge and advice to nurses and clinical teams/staff within the Division and Trust, including following service users through both elective and non-elective pathways. This includes inpatient reviews on CICU/CCU/Cath Lab and cardiac wards autonomously and with cardiac consultants, liaising with wider teams on procedure list days. The elective pathway will require triaging patients into the service, conducting MDTs, pre-assessment, and post TAVI/TEER follow-up, all clearly documented to facilitate a synchronized care pathway. Communicate with professional leads for nursing, midwifery, AHP, and other staff across the Trust, including senior clinical staff. Embed evidence-based practice and methods of education that promote inclusivity and diversity. Dynamically support the SHVD team response to new service development demands. Professionally demonstrate transformational and inspirational leadership with responsibility for supervising, leading, and managing the practice development of the TAVI pathway and staff. Develop high-quality learning objectives for clinical practice development teaching sessions and internal programmes. Use analytical and judgement skills necessary to support the delivery of high-quality education. Working for our organisation

Registered Nurse level 1 (Adult) with current NMC registration 1st Degree in Nursing Qualification in Teaching, Assessing, and Mentoring Evidence of Masters level academic study or willingness to work towards Masters in a relevant health-related subject Non-medical Prescribing or willingness to work towards Ability to gain influence and motivate people Ability to work flexibly according to role need Enthusiasm for and desire to embed research within clinical practice Proactive in professional development for self and others Proactive and solution-focused Skills and Abilities
