Principal Clinical Psychologist - 8b or 8a to 8b Preceptorship

We require a motivated, dynamic and experienced qualified Clinical Psychologist to join our well-established team at the Harbour inpatient facility in Blackpool. This role involves working with older adult wards, providing input into complex patients, offering direct input, consultation, and clinical leadership. As a principal psychologist, you would be expected to deputise for the psychology lead alongside other 8b psychologists in the unit. If taken on as a preceptor, you would be supported to develop competencies to work fully into a principal clinical psychology role over a two-year period, with support from existing 8c and 8b psychologists. You would be joining a team that includes two consultant psychologists, a senior to principal preceptor, and a senior psychologist. We are a friendly, cohesive team working in the same building, providing ample peer support and interaction. Main Duties of the Job

Qualifications
Doctoral level training in clinical psychology or equivalent for those who trained prior to 1996, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies, and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS. Knowledge
An increased level of knowledge relevant to this post equivalent to a post-graduate diploma (in addition to entry-level qualification). Doctoral level knowledge of research methodology, research design, and complex, multivariate data analysis as practiced within the clinical fields of psychology. Knowledge of legislation and its implications for the client group and mental health. Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS, demonstrating a minimum of 40 hours per year. Experience
Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups across the life course, maintaining professionalism in the face of emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse, and the threat of physical abuse. Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment within a multidisciplinary care plan. Demonstrable evidence of a continuing commitment to developing expertise in psychological assessment and intervention. Experience of teaching, training, and supervising.
