A rare exciting opportunity has arisen to join Rheumatology Outpatients. Our current staff nurse is leaving to take up a post as a Rheumatology nurse specialist.
You will be a highly competent nurse, knowledgeable, and a visible practitioner within our clinical environment.
You will manage allocations of nursing staff within the department and ensure clinics run effectively and efficiently.
You must have an understanding of resource management, health and safety, clinical risk, and quality issues.
You must have effective management and organisational skills and be dedicated to supporting the patient through their Outpatient journey.
Training and support will be given as our nursing team provides nurse-led injection clinics and trains patients to give their injections to enable them to go on home therapy.
Applicants must be highly motivated, enthusiastic, have a genuine desire to work in Outpatients, and be flexible to work over 5 days.
Hours flexible Monday to Friday.
You must be able to work from 8am to 18.30.
Main duties of the job:
As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for supporting your Manager in ensuring that our service users' needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care. As a centre of excellence, you will offer a person-centred approach to their independence and well-being.
The Registered Nurse works as part of the department team and is accountable for the planning and delivery of patient care under the leadership of the Lead Nurse/ Deputy Lead Nurse. The Registered Nurse will:
Be responsible for providing a range of specialist services in the outpatient department. Be expected to work autonomously in carrying out all relevant forms of nursing care within the parameters set by the local, organisational, and national guidelines for best practice. Carry out all nursing duties within the department commensurate with their level of education and experience. Be required to take charge of individual clinical areas within the department. In the absence of the Lead Nurse and Deputy Lead Nurse, take charge of the Outpatient department. Be expected to role model and lead on ensuring that standards of care are to the highest standard with excellent communication skills. Ensure appropriate chaperoning of patients for consultation and clinical examinations.
