You will benefit from the support of a small, friendly team of 18 Dietitians, Dietetic Assistant Practitioners, and administration staff.
This post will provide an excellent grounding in general Dietetics and an opportunity to gain insight into various specialties across the Trust, including Stroke, Diabetes, Oncology, Gastroenterology, Surgery, Weight Management, and Nutrition Support.
Main duties of the job
You will provide a service to adult inpatients and outpatients within Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, working closely with the support of a dedicated acute team. You will also have the opportunity to gain experience and training from specialist Dietitians and will receive shadowing experience in other specialist areas within the department. The post holder will be provided with regular clinical supervision and extensive CPD opportunities and excellent clerical support. The acute role will involve a variety of acute medical and surgical wards as well as an outpatient general clinic at the hospital. The department supports training for A, B, and C placement dietetic students. The post holder will be expected to be involved in the clinical teaching and assessments of students on placement, and training will be provided. You should be a motivated and enthusiastic individual with good time management skills and a commitment to evidence-based practice.
