Family Hubs are part of Kent County Council's offer to support children and young people, aged 0-19 (SEND 25) and their families. Our local Family Hubs offer a broad and integrated range of early help services for families, which include midwifery, health visiting, parenting support, and activities for children and young people. We have 56 Family Hubs across Kent, where we operate alongside our partners to support local communities. Job Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the newly formed Family Hub team in the Dover District. The successful candidate will operate as a Family Hub Practitioner within the Family Hub team in an agile fashion at a variety of outreach settings (including home visiting) within a district, providing 1:1 and group support to children and their families. The role will work closely with the integrated children's services team and with a range of multi-agency partners including schools, police, district council, and community organisations to provide support for vulnerable children and their families. Responsibilities

Facilitate and support peer groups. Provide guidance to families about baby and child development. Encourage families to take advantage of the Family Hub Digital and Virtual offer and other routes of advice and guidance. Work flexibly across the 11 - 19 (SEND 25) age range, as well as potentially supporting work across the wider age range where needs arise. Operate a whole family approach in practice and work around the times of the family, which may include evenings and weekends. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
