As an Engineering Content Creator, you will play a crucial role in developing, creating, and disseminating ICE’s Inspiring Engineering Excellence programme. Your work will involve transforming the technical expertise of civil engineers into engaging and accessible multimedia content. Reporting to the Knowledge Programmes Lead, you will be instrumental in researching, writing, commissioning and disseminating a variety of content types including news articles, technical reports, video + podcast scripts and longform reports. This role has a global scope, with a shared responsibility for managing a budget of approximately £100k. Duties and Responsibilities
Research, write, commission and circulate high-quality multimedia content suitable for engineering and built environment professionals. Engage with civil engineering and built environment experts to gather the latest evidence-based insights and contribute updates to stakeholders and Trustees. Support the delivery of engineering knowledge programmes, collaborating with various ICE teams and external partners to ensure the successful dissemination of content. Identify and recruit experts for recordings, events, and workshops. Support the ICE’s Community Advisory Board (CAB) by setting meetings, planning strategic conversations, and delivering related programmes. Process invoices for freelancers and suppliers and maintain the budget tracker. What we are looking for
Strong numerical ability with a knack for translating complex technical themes into engaging content. Background in producing digital and print media content, including editing and fact-checking. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to articulate complex ideas clearly and positively to both internal teams and external stakeholders. Able to work effectively in a busy, hybrid environment, both autonomously and as part of a team. Experience in collaborative platforms like SharePoint, OneDrive, and content management systems. Strong diplomatic and negotiation skills with the ability to navigate differing viewpoints and build consensus. A deep interest in the role of civil engineers and a commitment to advancing the engineering capacity and infrastructure needed for global sustainability. Background in engineering, construction or infrastructure fields, with proven experience in high-quality technical content creation and managing workshops or project teams.
