To work within GP practices, care homes and other healthcare settings to provide individualised clinical care to patients, through clinics, to improve the safety and effectiveness of their medicines, prescribing where appropriate.
Developing, implementing and evaluating a range of processes to ensure successful implementation of NHS Lanarkshire prescribing strategies and policies promoting awareness of prescribing management issues.
Support with the operational delivery of the pharmacotherapy service within the locality.

What we'll need you to bring
Masters of Pharmacy Degree
Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (1-year pre-registration practice and competency assessment with examination to enter the register)
Required to demonstrate a highly specialised clinical pharmacy knowledge, skills clinical reasoning and judgement
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Experience in patient information/education
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Information technology and analytical skills
Proven practice research/audit skills
Proven negotiation skills and ability to motivate and influence others to address and improve a variety of prescribing issues
Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership
Planning and organisational skills
Ability to work autonomously
Critical appraisal skills
Valid driving licence
Experience of working with primary care practitioners in multidisciplinary environment
Registered with GPhC as a prescriber (or willing to work towards)
Project management experience
Understanding of the wider NHS and Primary Care services
It would be great if you also have
Post registration experience
Experience of working with primary care practitioners in multidisciplinary environment
Track record of success in prescribing support
Knowledge of GP practice computer systems and PRISMS/PIS with the basic knowledge of the role of Boards and CHPs, in the provision of healthcare
An understanding of the wider NHS and its impact on Primary Care

Please note if this is a part time post, the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Location and Working Pattern This role will be based in one of our primary care settings across Lanarkshire.
The working pattern for this role Mon-Fri; 9:00-5:00.
