Long/Short Equity is Point72's core investment strategy, and its success depends upon our sector-based investing teams comprised of portfolio managers and research analysts. As an ever-increasing amount of data is applied to the fundamental equity strategies, we are seeking a dedicated data engineer intern to help design and build solutions that enable investment professionals to extract insights from large, complex, Compliance-approved data sets.
What You'll Do During your ten-week internship in our London office, you will gain exposure to a variety of activities, which may include: Working alongside a portfolio manager and team of analysts to explore and implement AI and machine learning applications within the team's investment strategy Developing quantitative insights to aid the investment team in generating investment ideas Creating tools and infrastructure to support and enhance the team's quantitative efforts Integrating and processing Compliance-approved data What's Required
Pursuit of a bachelor's or master's degree in a quantitative discipline (computer science, math, engineering), with an expected graduation date of Autumn/Fall 2025 or later Strong proficiency in SQL and Python (with an emphasis on Pandas, PySpark, etc.) Interest in Generative AI technology Strong verbal and written communication skills Commitment to the highest ethical standards Fall Internship Program at Point72 In addition to the learning and development you'll receive in your day-to-day role with your team, as a part of our fall internship program you will: Receive close mentorship from investing and technical professionals Get hands-on access to best-in-class tools and resources Gain exposure to groups and functions with unique responsibilities and perspectives on our industry Develop technical, writing, and presentation skills About Point72 Point72 Asset Management is a global firm led by Steven Cohen that invests in multiple asset classes and strategies worldwide.
