The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a fantastic team of colleagues while developing your technical skills across the product development lifecycle, from new concept generation through to technology validation.

We have:

Projects ranging from quick build proof-of-principle prototypes through to full product developments.

The opportunity to work with a wide range of clients ranging from start-up to blue-chip companies while developing your hardware design skills.

A multitude of exciting projects in the medical, industrial, consumer and food and beverage sectors.

You have:

A degree (First or 2.1, or even a PhD) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Combined Science with Electronics or similar.

A solid understanding of analogue and digital electronics fundamentals.

Enthusiasm to work within multidisciplinary teams.

You might also have (but not essential):

Wireless/IoT technologies experience.

Simulation experience using SPICE simulators, such as LTSPICE.

Capability in actuator and sensor interfacing electronics design.

Experience developing embedded C/C++ applications for microprocessor platforms.

A day in the life

You will be based at our Sagentia Innovation offices in Harston, Cambridge and there may also be opportunities to travel to client sites in Europe or USA. You will enjoy a fast-paced environment working within a team who solve a variety of challenges from different industries, and you will be expected to stretch yourself and demonstrate ambition, determination and focus.

At any one time we have dozens of active projects in the medical, industrial, consumer and food and beverage sectors. As a Graduate, you will have the opportunity to use and improve your electronics design skills on one or more projects simultaneously across these sectors. Projects range in length anywhere from a couple of months to several years, and will typically require multidisciplinary skills requiring teamwork, independent research, software design, mechanical design, and of course an electronics team that you will be part of. You will enjoy a variety of tasks such as attending daily stand-ups, concept generation, circuit design and simulation, debug and test as well as attending client meetings.

You will work on client projects from your first day; this provides you with the opportunity to work with a fantastic team of colleagues and put your technical skills to use immediately. We work with you from the start of your time with us to ensure we understand how you want to develop your career in the future, whether it be a technical or commercial role.

For the first year we expect you to participate and contribute to the successful delivery of many different client projects, this exposes you to multiple complex challenges, increases your experience exponentially and provides you with a firm understanding of how we work in a consultancy setting. During this time, you will be paired with a mentor who will help you settle in, provide continual support, identify training opportunities, and inspire you in how we work at Sagentia Innovation.
