We have an exciting opportunity for a registered pharmacist to join our clinical pharmacy team providing pharmacist support to wards within Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
This rotational foundation pharmacist post would suit a recently qualified or soon to be qualified pharmacist looking to further or gain experience in hospital pharmacy. You will be supported to commence your foundation pharmacist training by an experienced pharmacy team.
The post holder will rotate around our medical and surgical wards and be supported by a senior team member.
This district general hospital supports general surgery, orthopaedics, trauma, critical care, medical specialities and women's and children's.
Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary opened in 2017 and the pharmacy benefits from electronic prescribing and robotics.
We have worked to maximise the skill mix within pharmacy and have a technician led dispensary and clinical technicians in admissions and surgery ensuring we have pharmacists in roles supporting the multi-disciplinary teams.
We work closely with our pharmacy teams in Community Health and Social Care directorate and the Mental Health directorate to constantly improve our pharmacy services to benefit patients in NHS Dumfries and Galloway.
The post holder will be based in Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, Dumfries in beautiful south west Scotland with easy links to the Scottish central belt, Northern England and Northern Ireland.
The post is 36.5 hours per week permanent contract and will support weekend and bank holiday working and join our on-call rota.
